Rosicrucian Salon

RC Salon

Statement of Purpose

This web site exists to provide three important resources to the Rosicrucian community

1.  A strangely familiar and welcoming gathering place for all practicing Rosicrucians to experience a sense of fraternal community regardless of their present affiliation with any earthly organizations.

Once the student reaches a certain point in the Path and in conjunction with your Rosicucian studies you KNOW you have become a Rosicrucian with all the invisible and intangible inner connections.

The true Rosicrucian must forever be a walking question mark in order to discover their own personal Truths and to seek the underlying higher Truth.  We worship no masters or leaders for we have learned the best and truest guide for each of us is our own Inner Self.

The Rosicrucian Salon subscribes to the notion that Rosicrucians apply the methods of science to attain the goal of religion and that true expression in the Arts is a profound mystical statement spoken in the language of the soul and rendered in an earthly media for others to experience it.   The exposure to a work of art, a poem or piece of music can generate a multitude of feelings and impressions that could not be conveyed in any other way.  We feel our mission is to provide a wide variety of art, graphics and music with mystical subjects and influences to stimulate this process and feed the soul through the channel of the senses and the intellect.

Our greatest goal here at the Rosicrucian Salon is to create a true Virtual Community of Rosicrucians and to revitalize Rosicrucianism for the 21st Century and beyond.  If we don't do it,  who will?   As true practicing Rosicrucians it's both our right and responsibility to future generations to do.

2.  A modern reincarnation of the tradition of the Salon de le Rose-Croix from the late 1800's.

Sar Pelledan organized a series of five art exhibits called the Salon de le Rose-Croix and attempted to establish a new Order based on the principles of intellect and art.   One of the criteria for works of art to be exhibited at the Salon was that they possess some occult symbolism or relevance.  We here at the Rosicrucian Salon adhere to that same standard for presentation in that all articles presented should have special interest to our Virtual Community,

3.  A place to contribute your thoughts, feelings and articles to share with other Rosicrucians.

In order to build a sense of commuity the community must participate and add their Light to the cummulative Light of the other Roicrucians present here in spirit.

Visitors to the Rosicrucian Salon are encouraged to submit articles, essays, works of art, music and images for display as an exhibit here at the RC Salon.  We have only two requirements; that your submission is likely to be of interest to Rosicrucians and that can cover a LOT of ground, and that your contribution be your own original work and that what material you include be free from any copyright restrictions. However the "fair use" provisions of copyright law pertaining to editorial and journalistic review does give some leeway in what you can use.  A good example is if you do a book review you can quote from the book and include a picture of the front cover and maybe even a picture or two from within the book but you can't provide scans of the pages. But this only applies to books currently under copyright protections. There are literally ten of thousands of books, manuscripts and drawings in the public domain having lapsed from copyright or were never copyrighted at all. The David Roberts lithographs on display here are a good example of public domain works you can use.
You can sign your contribution with your real name, a pen name, your RC name or whatever handle you like. You may retain copyright to your work or have it covered under the web site's blanket copyright notice. Your choice.
And you don't have to be a polished wordsmith or master artist to contribute to the Salon.  All is takes is a desire to share something you hold special with other Rosicrucians and the ability to express it.   All you have to do is supply the raw text and media. We do all the technical web page construction and layout for you.  The Aim is to Create and Share.
